Gruppo Sixty, the trendy young fashion retailer of Miss Sixty is planning to launch a chain of four-star hotels.

The Chieti-based fashion house is following the footsteps of fashion houses like Giorgio Armani, Missoni and Salvatore Ferragamo to open hotels under the "Sixty" insignia, but would focus on the young customer aged between 18 to 28 years.

Gruppo Sixty's Chief Designer Wicky Hassan said, “The first hotel is planned to open in Riccione on the Adriatic coast in April next year. A second hotel is slated to open in Rome.”

"It's a fun concept and there are prospects for a chain," Hassan added.

Sixty's move follows a deal signed by Armani with Dubai-based land developer Emaar Properties PJSC for the development of Armani hotels and resorts worldwide. The first Armani hotel is scheduled to open in Dubai in 2008.

Recently, Missoni stated it teamed up with Belgian hospitality management company Rezidor Sas Hospitality to Missoni hotels to open first three in 2007.

The Salvatore Ferragamo family also operates hotels through its business management company Lungarno Hotels. The first luxury hotel owned by Ferragamo opened in Florence in 1997.
