Brantano Group 2005 profit doubles to €7.1mn, turnover drops

Over the entire year of 2005, 10 stores were opened and 2 were closed in the United Kingdom and 6 stores were opened in the Middle East. No store was opened or closed in Belgium (including Luxembourg). On 31.12.05 Brantano therefore had 125 stores in Belgium (including Luxembourg) and 145 stores in the United Kingdom, which including the 10 franchising stores in the Middle East, brings the total number of stores to 280.
The group expects a consolidated annual turnover of €314 million in 2006. The investment budget for 2006 amounts to €12.9 million, of which €2.2 million is allocated to the opening of new shops and €7.0 million to the refurbishment of existing shops.
Brantano Group – The group's principal activity is the retail of shoes for men, women and children, leather related products and other products such as sports clothes, socks, shoelaces and soles.
