Retail arm of Tatas, Trent will be present through one or more of its brands in the next 12 DLF malls scheduled to come up soon.
It has entered into an agreement with the Delhi-based DLF Universal to this effect.
The Trent brands include Westside, the lifestyle retail outlet, Landmark (bookstore) and Star India Bazaar, the hypermarket.
This would mean a total of 27 stores, adding up to about a million square feet of space.
Noel Tata, Managing Director, Trent, said at the launch of a Westside outlet in Gurgaon that real estate and retail industry are growing at a fast pace and alliance with DLF along with participation in some of their future projects will benefit both companies.
Pia Singh, Director, DLF said, that DLF has planned a strategy to take advantage of the rapidly growing retail industry.
Trent, a leading Indian retailer and DLF will bring in a new lifestyle experience through this association for customers.
Westside is now present in 13 cities and has 22 outlets across the country, with its positioning being affordable lifestyle apparel and home products.
Star India Bazaar, the group's only hypermarket is at Ahmedabad.
The group recently acquired Landmark, a book, stationery, music and movies retail outlet.
