Hublot, Offical Timekeeper of the Real Club Náutico de Palma, is proud to announce the second edition of Hublot PalmaVela 2006.
Regattas will be held in the bay of Palma from April 19 to 23, with a participation of 22 different classes gathering no less than 250 boats.
The Hublot PalmaVela regatta, born in 2004, has the objective of bringing the sport of sailing closer to the general public.
It is a meeting point for all types of keelboats, from last generation of Maxis – such as the Wally Class – to small lateen rigged boats, TP52, fleets in corrected time, various one-design models or classic vessels, among others.
The main new points of the 2006 edition are the incorporation of classes RN (National rating), Production boats, Yachting Industry Class, 1 Meter International Class which join the classes that already participated last year: Maxi, IMS, Traditional and Classic vessels, Lateen rigged boats, one design and charter.
With this extension, Hublot Palmavela reaffirms its concept of an event for everyone and consolidates itself as the regatta with most projection in Spain.
One of the main attractions of the Hublot PalmaVela is the participation of the Maxis, specially the big boats of the Wally Class, which have incorporated this year the Mallorca regatta to their official calendar of events.
Another significant element has been the election of the Hublot PalmaVela as a scoring event for the Traditional and classic boats Spanish Championship.
