London Fashion Week will be devoid of Mulberry show

Mulberry, the famous English fashion company, will not stage a catwalk show in the forthcoming February, 2014 calendar of London Fashion Week (LFW).

The clothing and accessory brand has cancelled its Fall/Winter 2014 show, at the London event, as it is still in the process of hunting for a new creative director to succeed the former one.

According to WWD, the brand is yet to find a replacement for its ex-creative helm Emma Hill, who had left after presenting her final runway collection for the label in LFW’s September 2013 schedule.

Hill, who had been helming the label for almost six years, is largely credited for reviving the image of Mulberry due to her decision of introducing ready-to-wear clothing alongside the brand’s signature luxury leather goods.

Hill’s last Spring/Summer 2014 collection for the brand was a tribute to the inimitable British style. Based on a vivid palette of red, white and blue, the ensembles included striped cropped trousers, A-line skirts, leather shirts, jacquard coats and silk dresses.

Internationally famous for women's handbags, the Somerset-based Mulberry was founded in 1971.
