Fashion house Marni launches 1st store in Shanghai

China is rapidly becoming one of the favoured destinations for major international brands because of the huge market it offers.
Now, Marni, an Italian fashion house led by Gianni Castiglioni, has plans to expand its operations in the country.
Last week company opened its first outlet in Shanghai and revealed plans to launch another one in Beijing next year and about ten more in next five years.
Marni supplies fur products to renowned fashion players like Fendi, Prada, Dior and Louis Vuitton.
Company will cater to fashion conscious people within the age range of 30-50 in China.
Sales revenue for 2005 has reached 80 million euros or US $96.83 million, a rise of almost 30 percent from 2004.
