Fusion of Tavex & Santista craft world leaders in denim

A merger of Spanish textile company, Tavex, and the Brazilian, Santista Têxtil announced in March are expected to conclude this month.
The merger will take over the world leadership in denim production used for making jeans.
The production capacity of the two together will be of 150 million metres per year and revenues to exceed US $500 million.
They have planed doubling their production to 300 million metres of material per year up to 2010.
From production of thread to the finished material, all possibilities of switch over are being considered at all levels from the Brazilian factory, the Moroccan unit and other Tavex factories.
On merger, it has been decided that each company will maintain exports to the respective countries they had been selling their brands.
Tavex produces in Spain and Morocco materials for sportswear and technical materials.
It supplies international brands of clothes such as Zara, Diesel, Miss Sixty and Blue Cult.
Santista has five factories in Brazil and one each in Argentina and Chile, manufacturing canvas for sportswear and materials for professional's clothes, exporting to over 50 countries.
The merger opens future expansion in Central America and even in Asia.
