Fashion retailer Alexon declares interim results ended May 20

Alexon Group plc will make the following statement at its AGM this afternoon.
The climate in which the Group operates has continued to be challenging across all four divisions (Alexon Brands, Dolcis, Bay Trading and Menswear). Like-for-like sales for the sixteen weeks ended 20 May 2006 are down 5.7% on the prior year. Gross margins are below last year reflecting the continuing need to keep stocks under control.
The interim results for the 26 weeks ended 29 July 2006 will be announced on Monday 2 October 2006.
