AltaRomAltaModa to encourage young fashion designers

ALTA ROMA SCpA is going to organize Rome July show. For the forthcoming edition of the Roman fashion shows, to be held from 10 to 14 July, Alta Roma has chosen the theme 'Per Filo e per Senso. The only event developed around a creative theme from which designers can draw inspiration for their collections.

The 2006 edition of AltaRomaAltaModa pays tribute to the textile industry, a sector that, as confirmed by recent economic statistics, is making a fast recovery.

Yarn linked to 'tricotcouture', the new frontier of elegance and fashion. The designer, Giovanni Cavagna, tutor of a group of young students of fashion schools has been chosen to represent the Alta Roma project whose success will be further heightened thanks to the contribution of number of prestigious textile manufacturers such as Millefili, Manifattura Sesia, Loro Piana and Linea Più.

The fashion show will be staged at the Mercati di Traiano, currently undergoing restoration, and a first-time ever location for High Fashion. “I see this as a real challenge”, confesses Cavagna. I have worked on a new concept of knitwear moulded for High Fashion. Possibly, the first of its kind.

It is extremely rare to see the presentation of haute couture knitwear on the runway. In the past, 'Tricotcouture' was mainly associated with the legend of Coco Chanel. Musical performances, dance and poetry at Hadrian's Temple for Debora Sinibaldi.

Garments modelled by luminescent figures with continual references to historical events similar to the last 2006-2007 autumn-winter collections inspired by Marie Antoinette, the unhappy French queen.
