GoLite Footwear has unveiled its new trail running shoe line from the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The award-winning Timberland Invention Factory (iF) engineered the new performance footwear line from the ground up solely for the distinct, demanding nature of uneven trails. The conventional process of producing a running shoe has been abandoned and GoLite Footwear is turning the shoe upside-down, literally, with a 'Soft Against the Ground' concept that addresses a need specific to trail runners: whole body stability.
"We believe the GoLite shoe is a revolutionary tool that will change the way we view running on trails. It is not a repurposed road-running shoe or a pared down hiking boot but rather a completely different shoe dedicated solely to trail running," said Bill Dodge, GM for GoLite Footwear. "This project has been a two year commitment and has resulted in a footwear line that offers uncompromised performance and protection in the lightest weight shoe possible."
Inspired by the sport of sky running, or running at altitude, GoLite introduces a package of technological advancements that promises to rewrite the specifications of trail running shoes. Metamorphic suspension system stabilizes the foot strike by enveloping trail landscape that varies from step to step. This evens out the plane and creates a more consistent, level path and is available in two variations -- Isomorphic Suspension system and Amorphic Suspension system.
