OMEGA Ambassador Michael Phelps set a new world record on Thursday 17 August in the men's 200m butterfly at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Victoria, Canada, for which Omega was Official Timekeeper.
Michael Phelps clocked 1:53.80, beating his own previous record of 1:53.93 that was set in Barcelona in 2003.
Michael Phelps, OMEGA Ambassador since 2004, has been regarded as the world's best all-around swimmer since his appearance at the 2000 Sydney Games at the age of 15.
