Earnshaw's, the leading for childrens fashion apparel trade magazine, will announce the winners of the title's coveted Earnie Award at its annual cocktail party and fashion show event.

The party will be held on October 16, 2006 at 6 p.m. at the Copacabana at 560 West 34th Street in New York. This year's winners represent the best in children's fashion, as voted on by their retailer partners.

“For 90 years Earnshaw's has been in the business of supporting and showcasing children's wear design. With the Earnies, we're able to bring the industry together to reflect on the talent and hard work that goes into each season's successes,” stated publisher Stephen Schwartz.

“The industry gets so energized throughout the Earnie voting season with each manufacturer becoming a little competitive and retailers eagerly voting for their favorite designers,” stated Caletha Crawford, editor in chief of Earnshaw's magazine.

“The pinnacle of this excitement is always the fashion show—who can resist a parade of well-dressed, pint-sized models?”

This year, the Earnie Award will be given in 21 categories within the children's apparel industry, including the infant and toddler market, girls' wear, boys' wear, sleepwear, swimwear and accessories.

Nominees are selected by a committee consisting of childrens wear experts; the winners are then voted on by retailers across the country.
