U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced that the Belleville Shoe Manufacturing Company has been awarded a $98,600 contract by the U.S. Army. The company will deliver 580 pairs of modular boot systems for initial development testing.
"This work supports our troops abroad and our workers here at home," said Costello. "I will continue to make sure that the men and women of our Armed Forces have the resources they need."
Belleville Shoe Manufacturing Company recently celebrated its 100th year in business.
The company produced its first military footwear for the World War I in 1917, making Belleville Shoe the oldestand largest manufacturer of US specification military boots.
