Lingerie retailer Bare Necessities, whose website is the 60th largest apparel retail site according to Internet Retailer magazine, announced that it has hired former Victoria's Secret director Jessica Jackson as its new Vice President of E-Commerce.
Ms. Jackson joins the privately-held Bare Necessities, which, along with retailers such as Zappos.com, Bluefly.com and Shopbop.com, has been one of the leading success stories among Internet "pure-play" apparel retailers.
Bare Necessities CEO, Noah Wrubel, believes that the addition of Jackson will help the lingerie retailer build on its leadership position within the industry. Ms. Jackson will report directly to Mr. Wrubel in this newly created position for the company.
"We are the clear leaders in the online market for branded intimate apparel, and are continuously making investments in great talent that will enable us to capitalize and further expand our leadership position. Jessica's industry leadership will allow us to stay ahead of the curve in offering the finest shopping experience for intimate apparel online," said Wrubel.
Ms. Jackson, a 20-year veteran of Victoria's Secret, was integral in the brand development and marketing for the Victoria's Secret catalog and website, and for collection launches such as The Miracle Bra and Second Skin Satin. Jackson served as Director of Internet Creative Services at Victoria's Secret, and was a member of the original start-up team for the launch of VictoriasSecret.com in 1998.
Ms. Jackson joins Bare Necessities from The J. Crew Group, where she served as Director of Internet Operations, since December 2005. At J. Crew, she was responsible for improving the site functionality and customer experience.
Ms. Jackson earned a B.A. from New York University, and currently resides with her husband and two children in Holmdel, New Jersey.
