Famous Mysore Sandal soap brand maker Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) will penetrate liquid soap and shampoo segments.
G S Babu Siddakumar, Executive Director, KSDL, informed that research is carried out to launch appropriate products because the liquid soap segment is flourishing globally. Products will be introduced anytime in 2007.
He conveyed to reporters during launch of 'Herbal Care' soap that premium soap segment is worth Rs3,000 crores, while herbal segment is worth Rs600 crores. Company wants the herbal part to account for 10 percent of net turnover in next two years.
He added that KSDL had achieved Rs125 crores turnover in 2005 and exports of Rs6 crores. It had 6 percent market share in premium segment across the country and 15 percent in South India.
Company has also forayed into baby care segment with launch of soap and powder and cosmetic segment with sandal talcum powder.
