Given 88 percent of deaths from airway obstruction involve children four-years-old and under1, Tag-It Pacific Inc announced the launch of Talon KidZip, a line of zippers designed and manufactured specifically to resist certain types of breakage and prevent young children from serious injury and death.

While some major retailers recently amended manufacturers' zipper safety requirements, many of today's typical zipper/pull combinations do not meet these standards and pose a potential choking hazard to young children.

Redesigned and crafted from reinforced materials, Talon KidZip zippers are considerably stronger and safer than the traditional small sized zipper typically used in children's garments. The zippers are manufactured with a special technique to withstand greater pull-off strengths.

While some retailers have recently set their zipper pull-off strength standards of 22 lbs, Talon KidZip zippers surpasses this standard substantially with a pull-off strength of up to 50 lbs. Talon KidZip meets and exceeds the toughest industry safety standards2 and will be available to manufacturers worldwide through Talon International Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tag-It Pacific Inc.

Talon KidZip's strength has been extensively tested and certified by three independent laboratories, including: Consumer Testing Laboratories, Intertek Testing Services and Bureau Veritas.
