The Timberland Company announced the creation of four global consumer category segments and corresponding internal appointments. This move from a geography and product-centric construct to consumer-focused teams is designed to better serve the trade and consumer in each segment.
The new organizational structure will be led by a President of each consumer category (Authentic Youth, CasualGear, Outdoor Group and Industrial), along with dedicated resources against merchandising, design, sales planning, category marketing and global sales.
“Timberland's powerful equities appeal to a variety of consumers. In order to more fully deliver on opportunities and permission for each of our consumers, we are evolving our structure and go-to-market approach,” said Ken Pucker, Chief Operating Officer. “This shift emphasizes growth of the Timberland brand, and, at the same time, creates a platform to house new and adjacent ideas and brands.”
In addition, Pucker announced the creation of four senior positions and corresponding internal appointments:
Mike Harrison, President, CasualGear -- Mike joined Timberland in 2003 as the Senior Vice President of Timberland's international business. Under his leadership, Timberland's international revenues and operating profits have expanded at double-digit rates in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
In his new position, Mike will be responsible for men's, women's and kids footwear and apparel around the world in both retail and wholesale distribution channels.
