Littlewoods appoints Non-Executive Chairman

Littlewoods Shop Direct Group, the UK's biggest home and online shopping Group announces the appointment of David Jones as Non-Executive Chairman, effective 1st June 2007. He will succeed David Simons, who is retiring from the group at the end of May.
David Jones has a distinguished and successful 47 year history in UK retailing. David Jones spent 20 years at Next Plc between 1986 and 2006, including 13 years as Chief Executive and five as Chairman. He was also Deputy Chairman of WM Morrison Supermarkets from 2005 to 2006.
Before joining Next Plc, Mr Jones was an Associate Director of GUS Plc, Chief Executive of British Mail Order Corporation and Assistant Managing Director of Kays Mail Order Company, where he started his career in 1960.
