Europe's biggest footwear retailer, Deichmann, is all set to explore Romanian market, for the first time.
When contacted be Fibre2fashion, Ulrich Effing, Head of Corporate communications, Essen/Germany, confirmed that the Company planned to open three stores this year, targeting, Pitesti, Roman and Arad.
Reportedly, the location and rental deals have also been finalized.
Regarding the delayed entry in local market, Effing, explained, “We don't think it is late. Our development follows the principles of organic growth and must be financed by the company and not by the stock market. Hence the expansion is step by step.”
As for special collections for the locals, he said, “We will first enter with our regular collections. However, we will be continuously analyzing reactions of our customers and if necessary, we will bring out new and appropriate lines, in future.”
Effing declined to provide any comments regarding Company's expectations from this market as well as future prospects and plans for the same.
