The Brantano Group's consolidated turnover during the first 6 months of 2007 is € 152.2 million and is therefore up by 8.5% compared with the turnover posted in the first 6 months of 2006.

On 30.06.2007, the Brantano Group recorded a turnover of € 152.2 million, which is 8.5 % higher than the € 140.3 million it had achieved in the first half of last year. Excluding exchange rate effects, it was up by 7.4%.

Of the total Group turnover of € 152.2 million, Belgium (including Luxembourg) accounts for € 71.9 million and the United Kingdom (including the Middle East) € 80.2 million. The turnover in Belgium (including Luxembourg) therefore equals to 47.3% of the Group total and the turnover for the United Kingdom (including the Middle East) is 52.7%.

The turnover in Belgium (including Luxembourg) was € 71.9 million in the first 6 months of 2007 compared with € 69.0 million in the first 6 months of 2006, representing an increase of 4.3%. The likefor-like turnover growth (turnover growth in shops that have already been opened for more than 12 months) was positive by 3.9%.

The increase in the turnover trend can be ascribed to a combination of a good start of the spring sales thanks to the good weather in March and April (although this was partially offset by the difficult weather conditions in May and June), the launch of the renewed marketing campaign with more emphasis on fashion, the further rollout of the new store concept and the fact that the first day of the summer sales exceptionally fell on the 30th of June, whereas it traditionally falls in July.

8 shops were converted to the new store concept during the first 6 months of 2007.

In the United Kingdom (including the Middle East) a turnover of € 80.2 million was achieved in the first half of 2007 compared with € 71.3 million during the first half of 2006. Turnover therefore climbed by 12.6 %. In real terms, namely expressed in pound sterling, turnover rose by 10.5%. Brantano experienced positive like-for-like growth of 10.9% in the United Kingdom.

In that country the Group built on Brantano's repositioning as a national retailer. All of the stores have now been refurbished to a uniform standard and a large number of training sessions have been organised for staff. Brantano wishes to make its position as a mid market player with a focus on fashion clear through this new commercial approach.
