Amway targets Rs 1000 Cr turnover by end 2008

Amway India, the country's largest direct selling FMCG Company, has set a target of being a Rs. 1,000 crore company by end of fiscal year 2008. Amway India recorded a turnover of Rs. 738 crore for the fiscal year ending 2006. (Amway India's fiscal year is from January to December).
Speaking at a press conference here in Gulbarga, Mr. Rajat Banerji, head of Amway's Corporate Communications, said “buoyed by the phenomenal growth in the last three years, we have set a target of achieving a turnover of Rs. 1,000 crore by the end of next year. Some of the attributes that led to this kind of growth are world class products, constant innovation and adaptation to the market needs and efficient customer services."
"Above all, the Indian market has responded very positively to the concept of Direct Selling and people have taken the independent business opportunity in a big way.” On this occasion, Mr. Banerji launched the Festive Gift Catalogue range of products.
Talking about the festive catalogue range of products, Mr. Banerji said, “This is the sixth successive year that Amway India has launched the Festive Gift Catalogue range of products. Our success over the past five years, the acceptance and success of the gift catalogue range of products have spurred us to add more products to the list. "
"This year our catalogue range comprises of 33 products – both coreline and non-coreline. What makes this year's catalogue range attractive is that leading brands like Lee, Cookie Man, Puma, have associated themselves with Amway to sell their range of products. The gift catalogue, range, launched for a limited period of 4 months contributes about 8-9% to our total turnover.”
