Woolworths appoints Non-Executive Directors

Woolworths Group plc announces the appointment of Peter Bamford to the board as a non-executive Director with effect from 4 February 2008.
Mr Bamford, 53, served on the Main Board of Vodafone Group plc (1998-2006) holding a number of senior executive roles in that business including Chief Executive Vodafone UK Limited (1999-2001), Regional Chief Executive (2002-2003) and Chief Marketing Officer (2003-2006). Previously, he has held a number of senior general and commercial management positions in the retail sector including at WH Smith Group plc, Kingfisher plc, and Tesco plc.
He is a Non-Executive Director of Rentokil Initial plc and Chairman of The Key Revolution.

His extensive retail and general management experience together with his marketing skills further strengthens the Board and should provide valuable insight to the management team as we develop our Retail and Entertainment Wholesale businesses."
