Fashion accessories continue to drive eBags.com growth, with April year-over-year handbag sales up 103%. The online retailer is experiencing phenomenal sales growth this spring from top brands such as Vera Bradley, Kathy Van Zeeland and The Sak.

"Women are reacting positively to eBags' 200 handbag brands and 11,000 handbags, covering all fashion trends and price points," said Nancy Behrendt, senior director of merchandising at eBags.com. "We're also excited that the designer labels and emerging designers are weathering the current retail climate so well."

Top selling trends on eBags.com include bright colors, totes, clutches for summer and fashion prints that make a bold statement. eBags' emerging designer boutique named On the Streets is another area exhibiting heightened interest among fashion-savvy shoppers who are searching for the newest trendsetting purses from designers just coming onto the fashion scene.

"eBags.com's 30% increase in sales in April is the result of a lot of hard work. We passed the 500 brand mark, made numerous site improvements, and continue to focus on the customer.

Add in $4.00 a gallon gas prices and shoppers not wanting to fight crowds at the mall, and we are confident the eBags momentum will continue," said Peter Cobb, senior vice president and co-founder of eBags.com.
