Makeup artist Masa Ohtake wins Medal with Yellow Ribbon

The selection of Shiseido hair and makeup artist Masa Ohtake (Masayoshi Ohtake) as a recipient of the Medal with Yellow Ribbon for Spring 2008 was announced on April 29, 2008. The award, which is given by the Japanese government to individuals who demonstrate dedication and commitment in their work and serve as a model for others, will be presented on May 16, at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare followed by an audience at the Imperial Palace.
Mr. Ohtake currently serves as Vice Principal of Shiseido Beauty Academy, Principal of the Shiseido Academy of Beauty & Fashion (SABFA)*, and Vice President of Shiseido Beauty Salon Co., Ltd.
The honor reflects the exceptional technique, sensibility, and expressive skill that characterize Mr. Ohtake's international career. Recognized achievements include his creation of original hair styles and other new forms of beauty, as well as his leadership in the Japanese beauty and hairstyling industry, involvement with and recognition by domestic and overseas beauty and hairstyling industry groups such as the Paris headquarters of Intercoiffure Mondial and the Italian Beautician association called “UNIONE NAZIONALE FAMIGLIE ARTISTICHE ACCONCIATORI PER SIGNORA”(U.N.F.A.A.S), untiring efforts to provide instruction in beauty and hairdressing techniques to young colleagues, and significant contributions to the technical skill and quality of beauticians and hairstylists.
