A wind of modernity in Marlboro Classics accessory collection

One likes to oppose the wild side of Nature to the civilized world of the City. But anywhere you go in the American West, materials are just as rugged and weathered with time. As for Winters, they are also just as rough. Under the influence of civilization, the style has become more sophisticated and modernized. Yet man remains the same and always ends up finding his roots.

One can truly feel a sense of modernity throughout the 09/10 Fall Winter Marlboro Classics Collection. A wind that shifts the values of the brand, but without ever betraying them. The classic heavy wool jackets with big checks and fur collars, Navajo Indian motifs, thick oiled corduroys, leather yokes and details, faded denims, all revisit the Western style with more modern cuts and a definite touch of fantasy when it comes to materials and colors such as brown, orange, red, ruby, oil, flame and indigo.

For activities taking place at the very heart of nature, multi-pockets are in the running along with an increasing number of practical details, as well as contrasting materials and seams, showcased in colors such as green, khaki, mixed with primary hues in a work wear spirit adapted to the great outdoors.

The influence of fashion blows right across the Great Plains with a zipped jacket in a biker cut and fur collar, washed striped shirts or big wool jackets with shawl collars in a wide range of grays, darks browns, blacks and pastels.

For the urban part of the collection, Marlboro Classics innovates materials and sophisticated treatments. For protection against the cold, a red quilted down jacket in micro fiber with double-zip pockets and finishing details in leather are testimony to this modern interpretation of the brand values.

Pea coat jackets come in a mix of cotton and nylon with a wind resistant double fastening and a neck warmer in ribbed wool, trench coats have padded shoulders and a stonewashed treatment, while checked blousons with hoods come warmly quilted. A collection of innovative materials, trendy cuts and a palette of more or less dark colors, in violent contrast with ruby reds, yellow or fuchsia.

This modern vision of sportswear is in keeping with the spirit of Western towns where one feels the gusty wind of renewal at each street corner.

Shoes and Accessories
Feet follow this movement in stride with shoes that display - with a certain audacity – tartan prints, embroideries, exotic leathers or folk and ethnic motifs for the more vintage versions. Between boots in the pure cowboy tradition and softly designed casual shoes in oiled leathers, it's a little difficult to figure out which style should be worn in the city or to trek around the great outdoors.

It may very well be a question of style, of color - or mostly of mood. One finds the same wide array of motifs on scarves. These come in wool and cashmere for the most sophisticated ones or in a double-face version, thicker, for a pleated and vintage effect. To be worn with caps that have leather patches, Canadian motifs or, even more stylish, hats and berets, the leitmotiv of this Winter season, along with gloves inspired by the motorcycle world.
