Nobel laureate and Bharat Ratna, Amartya Sen's daughter, Nandana Sen in a new-fangled avatar sizzled the ramp with elegance for bhu:sattva at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive '10 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on 17th September.

The Show Stopper
Nandana Sen's association with UNICEF, and her being the ambassador for various other NGO's like RAHI, which works for children and women who suffer from sexual harassment and abuse, is the reason behind choosing her as the show stopper.

Jainam Kumarpal, owner, bhu:sattva said, “We were looking for a face which has an earthy image, someone who is connected to the roots, someone who goes with the philosophy of bhu:sattva. At bhu:sattva we run programs for women's empowerment and upliftment, which is in tune with the philanthropic activities that the damsel is associated with.”

Nandana after the show said, “I am feeling pure. This is sinless clothing. The brand is working for a cause, the cause of promoting organic clothing. I love everything that bhu:sattva stands for - celebrating the beauty of our ancient organic tradition, using precious and vibrant herbal dyes that are entirely eco-friendly, creating a model for sustainable development that empowers it's craftsmen and protects them from health hazards and most importantly paying such a strong esthetic as well as ethical tribute to the essence of the earth. An essence that is more unique and beautiful in India than anywhere else in the world.”

Speaking at the glamorous event the model/actor, Arjan Bajwa said, “I really liked the collection. Especially the colors, they so well go with the nature of the season. I am thinking of chucking my jeans and tee look forever and try something different from the collection.”

The Brand bhu:sattva
In a very short span of time bhu:sattva has attained a niche in the fashion industry by making its presence at all the major high-end multi designer stores at National and International level. The fact that the brand caters to a number of growing needs of today's concerned consumers with equal emphasis on environmental issues and social responsibility of business, makes a shopper fall in love with it. Continuing its success story at the LFW, “DIGVIJAY SINGH FOR BHU:SATTVA” participated in LFW WINTER/FESTIVE '10. This was the brands fourth appearance at the Fashion Grande. Bhu:saattva participated in the previous three seasons at LFW namely SPRING/ SUMMER '09 , FALL/WINTER '09, SUMMER/RESORT '10 where it won accolades from all sections of the industry.

The Theme- “Tidak Ada Lagi”
This year the theme of the collection is, 'Tidak Ada Lagi'. 'Tidak Ada Lagi' in Malay is referred to as 'There are not many left' which is being spoken about this magnificent flower called RAFFLESIA, the inspiration of this collection. Known as the largest flower in the world, it is Malaysia's well known icon of the tropical forest which is now on the verge of extinction.
