And then there were 12. maurices has revealed the 12 winners of maurices Main Street Model Search. These women will model for the national women's clothing retailer for the next three seasons.
A pool of 500+ applicants from across the country was pared down to 50 through online voting and then to 20 by maurices. The top 20 had a whirlwind experience in Minneapolis, Minn., late last week, where they went through a series of interviews, hair and makeup sessions, and test photo shoots. The judging panel from maurices, along with celebrity judge and stylist Christopher Straub from Lifetime's Project Runway, got to know the women and discover what makes them passionate about fashion and their hometowns.
The 12 winners will be divided into three groups, with each modeling for an upcoming fall, holiday or spring maurices campaign.
"We're so grateful to the more than 500 women who participated in this contest, and we're thrilled with our top 12," said Brad Hartmann, maurices vice president of marketing. "maurices is all about bringing affordable fashion to small towns across the U.S., and this is a way for us to celebrate the women who love our clothes and our brand. We look forward to the photo shoots and experiencing each of these women's hometowns."
The photo shoots will take place in each model's hometown, featuring landmarks and other attractions that make her community special. Each model will also receive $1,500 in maurices clothing, a Flip video camera to capture her path to becoming a maurices model, and $7,500 to designate to a nonprofit organization in her community.
maurices, a brand of Ascena Retail Group Inc, is the leading small town specialty store and authority for the savvy, fashion-conscious girl with a twenty-something attitude. Today, maurices operates over 760 stores in 44 states.
