Austria based crystal accessories maker Swarovski inserted second annual edition to the Love & Affection trilogy.

The 2005 Joy of Laughter Brooch is the second annual edition of the fabulous Love & Affection trilogy. Don't miss out on this highly symbolic piece of jewellery – only available until the end of the year.

The rose-gold-plated open work brooch features three hearts in Light Rose, Rose and Ruby crystal pavé that are nestled inside each other. The designer's initials, the Swarovski hallmark and “2005” are inscribed on the back. This second edition of the "Love & Affection" trilogy comes in a beautiful gift box with a certificate of authenticity.

The design captures the unbridled joy of childhood and was actually inspired by a child. The five-year-old daughter of Swarovski designer Donna Hall-Pommenville was doodling in her mother's sketchbook – drawing hearts within hearts … within hearts.

Hall-Pommenville loved the concept and refined it to portray three “exploding” hearts, each separate yet connected to the others. Each heart depicts a stage of life: childhood, adulthood, and old age, central of which is the pure heart of a child.

Hall-Pommenville uses brilliant crystals in various shades of pink, symbolising innocence and providing important symbolic undertones to this fashionable hue.

The rosy shades pale with each larger heart, as they inevitably do with age. Yet it is the smallest, central heart, set in vibrant Ruby crystals that is the most powerful, due to a new stone-setting technique called CeralunTM.
