Alvanon & Coresight Research to host Trailblazers

Alvanon, a leading global apparel business and product development consultancy, and Coresight Research, a research and advisory firm that provides future-focused analysis and advisory services to organisations, are set to host ‘Trailblazers-One Size Does Not Fit All: Inclusive Design & the Modern Consumer’ event, on June 14, 2018, in New York.

Niche markets such as inclusive, plus-size and adaptive fashion are growing rapidly. In fact, standard sizes do not fit over half the US population. Retailers and brands that embrace nonstandard sizes and adaptive fashion can increase revenue and positively impact the lives of tens of millions of consumers.

The invitation-only conference for c-suite retail industry executives will explore how doing good for ‘the other 50 per cent’ can generate a positive social and economic impact for both consumers and businesses.

Scheduled speakers include Janice Wang, CEO, Alvanon; Deborah Weinswig, founder and CEO, Coresight Research; Simon Collins, founder of WeDesign.org and former Dean of Parsons School of Design; Joe Ferrara, co-founder and Co-CEO, Resonance; Rick Darling, executive director-Americas, Li & Fung; Shelly Fogel, executive vice president, LF Americas; Polina Veksler, co-founder and CEO, Universal Standard; Becca McCharen-Tran, founder & creative director, Chromat; Maura Horton, founder and CEO, Magna Ready; Camila Chiriboga, creative strategy & inclusive design, LIO Innovation Lab, Global Brands Group; Alexandra Connell, creative energy officer, and Patti+Rickey; Pavan Bahl, founder and president, MouthMedia Network.

Panels will discuss topics like how inclusive and adaptive design will revolutionise how we think of the fashion consumer; designing for specific needs; designing for functional work; the business challenges of inclusive design; the state of skills; and new visions of beauty and fashion. The final session will be the Trailblazers10 pitch contest, showcasing ten emerging innovators with pioneering technologies for retailers and fashion brands.
