Andrew Rosen, Stuart Vevers among AAFA awardees

Andrew Rosen, founder and CEO of Theory, Stuart Vevers of Coach, Nick Graham, and Ed Nardoza have been honoured with the 39th AAFA American Image Awards. A star-studded gathering of designers, fashion executives, and celebrities attended the American Apparel & Footwear Association's awards event which celebrates innovation and leadership in the industry. 
The event was emceed by award winning actor Alan Cumming. Rosen was given the Person of the Year award, Vevers was named the Designer of the Year, Graham was given the Fashion Maverick award, Ed Nardoza was given the Lifetime Achievement Award while Marc Fisher Footwear has been named as the Company of the Year. 
"A true partner to the fashion industry, AAFA's passion for influencing fashion and business were on full display at the American Image Awards. It is our opportunity to recognise the best of the best and to give back to the industry," said Rick Helfenbein, president and CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association. 
"Collaboration is essential during these uncertain times, and the American Image Awards showcases the many stakeholders that are essential to make the industry a success," said Paula Zusi, chairman of the American Apparel & Footwear Association. 
The event saw a moving speech from Nick Graham, known as "chief underpants officer" of Joe Boxer on changing the face of fashion when he turned an underwear company into one of America's most popular lifestyle brands. 
Stars from the world of entertainment including Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Camren Bicondova, and Bill Nye "The Science Guy" also attended the event. Models and fashion influencers included Nikki Taylor, Natalie Suarez, Dylana Suarez, and Dilone. (SV)
