The head designer at fabric brand Brentano draws inspiration from all aspects of her life, whether nature, people, history or culture. For their most recent fall 2016 cityscape collection, she was inspired by skyscrapers, perpetual movement and energetic sounds that pulse throughout any city.

“However, everyone wants a beautiful high-performance fabric at a reasonable price point. As designers, we strive to offer the perfect balance of beauty, performance and affordability,” Iris Wang, also CEO at Brentano Fabrics said.

Brentano has grown from a modest studio with eight patterns into an international design house creating curated and functionally strong fabrics. Clients include the contract, hospitality, healthcare and residential markets.

In sharing the latest trends with Fibre2fashion she added, “In recent years, several trends have become prevalent within the textile industry. Large scale patterns, geometric motifs and textured fabrics have been in high demand.”

“Bright colours as the new neutral, like chartreuse, coral and teal, which permit endless design possibilities are being used and in addition, there has been an increase in demand within the residential market for high-performance textiles,” Wang informed. (AR)
