Keren Craig has decided to leave the luxury fashion line Marchesa she started with Georgina Chapman, former wife of Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, 15 years ago. "While I have made the difficult decision to part ways with Marchesa, I have tremendous pride in the company, the team, and the many successes achieved," Craig reportedly said in a statement.

The brand has long been popular on the red carpet with many Hollywood actresses like Cate Blanchette, Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow. However, due to impact of the sexual abuse scandals surrounding Weinstein, the company's fortunes started falling, according to US media reports.

In October 2017, allegations of sexual assault against Weinstein brought unwanted attention to the brand after it was reported he demanded actresses working on his projects should wear his then-wife’s label to at least one major red carpet event.

Marchesa canceled its Fall 2018 runway show and has not re-appeared on the calendar since. (DS)
