Effective January 1, 2016, Cyrille Vigneron has been named the new CEO of Cartier International by Richemont Group, the parent company of Cartier and a leading international luxury group.

A Richemont Group press release informed that Cyrille Vigneron succeeds Stanislas de Quercize and that he will also serve on the Switzerland based Richemont Group management committee.

A French national and 54 years old, Cyrille Vigneron has earlier worked with the Richemont Group from 1988 to 2013 in various capacities.

He was managing director of Cartier Japan from 1997-2002, President of Richemont Japan from 2002-2005 and managing director of Cartier Europe from 2005-2013.

Vigneron left the Group thereafter and functioned as the president of LVMH Japan till his current appointment as the Cartier CEO.

Speaking on his appointment, Vigneron said, “I am delighted to be back at Cartier and I am looking forward to embarking with its teams on this new journey.”

“We know each other well and I am confident that I can rely on their enthusiasm to continue the great work carried out by Stanislas de Quercize, and address the challenges currently facing the Maison and the profession as a whole,” he added.

Besides being an author of a book titled 'De geishas en mangas: Chroniques du Japon d'aujourd'hui,' Vigneron is also a father of four children, a keen music lover and connoisseur of Japanese culture.

Richemont owns several of the world's leading companies in the field of luxury goods, with particular strengths in jewellery, luxury watches and writing instruments.

These include several of the most prestigious names in the luxury industry including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC Schaffhausen, Panerai and Montblanc. (AR)
