Designer Ritu Kumar shows tennis inspired line at LFW
Aug '16
At the ongoing Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016, fashion designer Ritu Kumar showcased a tennis inspired line. The collection called 'Vintage Sportswear' was worn by various fashion bloggers and was created by merging Parisian and Indian textiles to create an innovative fashion footprint to give it a delicate, feminine and sporty look.

Boxy silhouettes, panel detailing, prints and stripes along with surface embroidery and multi colours played a major role in the tennis-inspired collection, which included shorts, blouson, frock, miniskirts, maxi and rompers.

The ethnic print story in shades of multi colours and the fluid tiered white dresses, belted minis added to the look of the collection.

Accessories matched the mood of the show as printed trendy back packs, cross body bags, tennis carry cases and waist belt bags along with sneakers and block heel platforms and some with ankle socks.

Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon was the showstopper in a black silk backless maxi with patterns and motifs of Kashmiri weaves and discreet shimmer. (AR)
