 Grupo Cortefiel has appointed Juan Carlos Escribano García-Bosque as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Group.
With these new appointments Grupo Cortefiel looks to give a further commercial impulse to the company. In the last years the Group has been brilliantly managed by former CEO Anselm van den Auwelant, who has driven the company through an intense expansion period abroad, where the Group has significantly enhanced its international presence and its point of sale network, as has also been responsible for an important cultural change in the company.
Juan Carlos Escribano García-Bosque, the new appointed CEO, was the former General Manager for Springfield. During his management period, the brand has become the top brand for the company in terms of sales figures, a new store format has been implemented, and the new line for women Springfield Woman has been successfully launched. All of these achievements certify his appointment as first executive of the company and his capability to confront the current challenges in a complicated economic environment.
On the other hand, from the non-executive presidency, Anselm van den Auwelant will impel the Group’s institutional representation, manage the control of corporate risks, and will reinforce the company’s international profile in today’s global environment.
Through this decision, the Board of Directors reaffirms their commitment and firm will to confront the current economic deceleration with a reinforced management team, taking advantage of the Company’s history, its leading brands and their position in the market, public recognition and a qualified group of professionals.
