Jeanologia, the Spanish leader in development of sustainable and efficient technology, will participate in the second edition of Denimsandjeans India, in booth A31. The two-day show will bring various segments of the industry together, with special focus on the growing trend of creating unisex denim collections, on August 1 and 2, 2018 in Bangalore, India.

At Denimsandjeans, Jeanologia will present their collection ‘Made in India’, based on the new totally digital production model, in which manual and environmentally dangerous processes are eliminated and replaced by eco-efficient processes that are respectful of workers’ health.

The collection ‘Made in India’ has been developed 100 per cent digitally using a combination of Jeanologia technologies.

Manuj Kanchan, Asia area manager at Jeanologia said, “The traditional model was being used in India: production with low added-value and based on manual processes. The digital model, which we have been introducing, achieves a high value-added product that is completely sustainable and has a shorter production time. The combination of our technologies, laser, ozone, and e-flow, combined with the correct selection of fabric using our Light Sensitive Fabric tool, allows for a saving of 80 per cent in water and 50 per cent in chemical usage, shortening production time by 30 per cent.”

“Furthermore, the environmental impact of the collection has been analysed with the EIM (Environmental Impact Measurement), the Jeanologia software that measures water, energy and chemical consumption during the production process. All of the garments from the collection have an EIM score of low environmental impact, contributing to a minimal impact on its surroundings,” he added.

During Denimsandjeans, Jeanologia will lead an alliance with the main industry agents in India. With the objective of a complete detoxication of garment production and will present the keys to the ‘dehydration’ of the jeans finishing industry by 2025 with a neutral cost and through sustainable solutions.

Jordi Juani, division director at Jeanologia, will participate in the panel ‘The dawn of a new era in denim’, where he will drive home the need for radical change in the current production systems and the coming-together of all the main actors in achieving jean production that is respectful of the environment. He will also call attention to the importance of considering the sustainable production of jeans an intrinsic part of the production process. (GK)
