Lakmé Fashion Week selects 9 new faces

Lakmé Fashion Week, India's premier fashion and trade event recently held its Winter/Festive 2011 Female Model auditions at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. The model auditions received an overwhelming response with 118 aspiring models queuing up to walk the ramp.
After three rounds of short listing, the jury comprising of Choreographers Anu Ahuja and Marc Robinson, Designer and Stylist Aki Narula, Photographers Prasad Naik and Vishesh Verma, Model and Actress – Monikangkana Datta and Lakme Fashion Week joint organizers Anil Chopra (CEO, Lakme Lever) and Anjana Sharma (Director- Fashion IMG Reliance) selected 9 new faces.
The models were chosen based on their confidence, poise and their ability to bring a designer's creation to life on the ramp. Meeting these criteria were aspirants Mitali Rannorey, Nijhum Patra, Sweta Dolli, Xamira Mohlmann, Diana Loboda, Karen Lima, Keren Silveirra, Mariia Cherniakovych, , and Noelia Barreiro, LFW has played a key role in introducing fresh faces to the industry and maintaining excellent standards of quality with new talent. Over the last few years, the platform has brought to the forefront some of the industry's most promising faces like Miss India World Kanishta Dhankhar and Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Chopra, CEO, Lakmé Lever said “Lakme Fashion Week has an illustrious history of discovering and launching new talent into the Indian fashion industry. The turnout out for this recent season's model auditions was especially promising and has provided LFW with a noteworthy number of new faces; the selection of 9 models to walk for Winter/Festive 2011 is our largest selection ever. Each season, LFW has set a benchmark for models thus making us the preferred platform for new talent.”

Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is jointly organised by Lakmé, the No.1 cosmetics and beauty services brand in India and IMG, the global leader in fashion weeks and event production. LFW has been conceived and created with a vision to “Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world”. LFW is organized twice every year. LFW Winter / Festive 2011 will be held from August 16 to August 21, 2011 at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai.
