Travis Matthew Johnson, the former founder and creative director of golf apparel company Travis Mathew, in collaboration with Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) designer Shane Baum will launch Leisure Society as a new luxury lifestyle apparel collection at the PGA show in Orlando this January 26th through 28th.

The collaboration pairs two of today's most successful designers and intends to bring quality and elegance to the world's finest country clubs, resorts, and high-end retailers. The collection will ship to retailers starting Spring 2012.

Travis, a former professional golfer and UCLA collegiate standout, sold his interest in Travis Mathew at the end of 2010 and is a fully vested partner in Leisure Society Unlimited LLC. The partnership also includes John Oswald, former cofounder and CEO of Paul Frank Industries. Oswald grew Paul Frank Industries from a garage start-up to a global success and worldwide recognized brand with annual revenue of $120 million; in addition he managed and negotiated the sale of the company in 2010.

"Travis Johnson is one of the most talented designers in golf. In his short time in the industry he has made an immediate and significant impact," says Baum. "He is incredibly detail-oriented and his fitting talents will keep the older gents feeling great about themselves and the younger, more svelte group from swimming in a sea of fabric."

Shane Baum is a globally recognized designer whose portfolio includes work for couture brands such as Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Minkoff. Leisure Society Unlimited intends to utilize Baum's global infrastructure that currently includes offices in Southern California, Vienna, and Hong Kong.

"Teaming up with Shane Baum and John Oswald to collaborate on Leisure Society apparel has been an amazing privilege. Not only is Shane a world renowned eyewear designer and businessman, but he has an incredible sense of style and fashion," says Johnson. "So to work side by side to create this project together has only enhanced the quality and design from the products and brand I created before."

With an eye towards traditional styling, details, and exceptional fabrication, this collection will feature knits, bottoms, sweaters, outerwear, belts, hats, and eyewear. The company will focus on luxurious materials and time-tested high-end fabrications. Utilizing stretch comfort proprietary fabrics of the highest quality, the development team collaborated with the world's top factories to create the highest quality natural fabrics including pima cottons, fine cashmere, and wool blends.

"We've spoken to many club professionals and high-end retail buyers throughout the world, and they've indicated a strong demand exists for high-end, quality natural fabrics that are built with athletic performance in mind," says Baum. "The trend towards synthetic fabrics was not fueled by superior wearability, but rather by the astronomical increase in the price of cotton over the past three years."

About Leisure Society: At Leisure Society we design with the intention of making products that endure. They must be timeless and of exceptional taste and quality. Every detail is carefully contemplated, polished and hand crafted to offer the utmost in style and durability. Our products offer the wearer subtle moments of satisfaction that when in periods of absolute leisure will inspire a smile and a genuine appreciation for refined design and engineering.
