The Paris Fédération Française de la Couture has awarded the Haute Couture appellation to fashion house of Giambattista Valli.
Normally, designers are awarded Haute Couture appellations after displaying couture for around five years. In that sense, this is a rare honour for Giambattista Valli.
Giambattista Valli showcased his couture line in just July this year, but was awarded the appellation considering that his collection was of impeccable standard.
Giambattista Valli was trained at Italy's European Design Institute and London's Saint Martin's School of Arts.
He started his career at Roberto Capucci, then shifted to Fendi and later moved on to Emanuel Ungaro. He launched his own line in 2005.
He will be displaying his spring-summer collection in Paris next month.
