As a prominent platform for green fashion in Berlin, the GREENshowroom during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin attracted numerous trade visitors, press representatives and invited guests to the Hotel Adlon Kempinski from 18 to 20 January.

26 international exhibitors showcased their sustainable fashion, accessories and lifestyle products from the upmarket segment in Berlin's luxurious five-star Hotel Adlon Kempinski, which played host to the GREENshowroom for the fifth time.

Together with the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin at ewerk, the GREENshowroom offers a central platform for eco-fashions organised by Messe Frankfurt.

“The pioneering GREENshowroom concept unites the zeitgeist and high-end design with sustainability – a successful combination that has once again proven its worth. It is a concept with unlimited growth potential,” states Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, in summing up these three trade fair days.

Numerous new exhibitors, including brands such as Atelier Laure Paschoud, Atlantic Leather, early fish, goodsociety, HULA, Kaschuba Hommage, Pampa & Pop, Right as Rain, Slow Fashion Award 12, we3 and Sonja Heymann presented their designs in this unconventional showroom. The Stewart+Brown brand, recipient of the WGSN Global Fashion Award in October 2011, also made its GREENshowroom debut.

Magdalena Schaffrin and Jana Keller, founders of the successful eco fashion fair, are also pleased with the success of this event: “GREENshowroom has once again delivered more visitors than at the previous event, a very good development – and yet another example of the importance of fair trade fashion, as well as the demand for sustainable products.”

Salon show impresses the trade public and prominent guests alike As part of the exclusive salon show on 19 January, press representatives, trade visitors and invited guests were able to see the upcoming creations from selected GREENshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin designers on the runway. Among the many visitors to this event were German celebrities Ariane Sommer, Nina Eichinger, Sylvia Leifheit and Mo Asumang. Germany's Next Top Model winner Barbara Meier was also modelling on the catwalk.

Her business partner Magdalena Schaffrin is in full agreement: “It is very important to us to present the full diversity of green fashion.”
