In the absence of big names, lesser known fashion designers succeeded in attracting the attention of audience on day 2 of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW).

Designer Kanika Saluja Chaudhary, who was recently in headlines for designing dresses for Madonna's troupe at the Super Bowl 2010, showcased her collection that had a mix of metallics and silhouettes. Actress Chitrangada Singh walked the ramp for the designer.

A collection in prominent red and blue colours was displayed by designer Chandrani Singh Fllora. Model-VJ Pooja Missra, who grabbed attention with her act in reality show Bigg Boss, walked the ramp in a red sari, and was the showstopper for the designer.

Nimrita, Jenjum Gadi, Kiran and Meghna, Sakshee Pradhan and Nupur Kanoi were some other new designers who presented their collections at the fashion event.

The young designers are grabbing headlines due to the absence of some well-known designers like Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, Rajesh Pratap Singh and Namrata Joshipura in this season's WIFW.

The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) is instrumental in promoting the best of fashion design talent in the country and in cultivating an atmosphere conducive to the growth of young designers.
