'Rocky Star' rocks autumn leaves covered ramp
Mar '12
Dried branches on the stage and black wrought iron gates flanked the sides, while autumn leaves covered the ramp. The stage was set for a dramatic fashion presentation. Rocky S is known to pioneer many looks and on the final day of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012, Blender's Pride presented the “Rocky Star” collection which was the designer's new Celebrity line.

It was a bold, sexy yet sophisticated look with superb fabrics like georgette, chiffon, satin, silk and net forming a feminine base for Rocky's creativity. With the chandelier as the inspiration for the surface ornamentation, Rocky brought in laser cutwork for net and georgette along with intricate cord work and showers of crystal and kundan embroidery.

The very gothic collection had the models with wildly flowing dishevelled hair defiantly striding with an aggressive walk to loud sombre music. The all western line of creations had varying lengths encrusted with crystals and sequins.

To further dazzle the audience, there were sequins sheeting, shell buttons, mono coloured resham with intense ghera work, crystal and pearls. To match the mood of the Red Carpet collection, Rocky S chose ivory, dark mystic black, dull grey and nude for the very stylish show stopping creations.

The white laser cut gown with net ruffled sleeves, the grey crimped frilled creation, the jewel encrusted mini, the black dress with ribbon streamers and beaded tasselled strappy entry were arresting in their beauty. The body hugging silhouettes and plunging necklines, the slashed skirts and the distressed stockings all added to the look of the collection.

For that impactful global entry, it's “Rocky Star” presented by Blender's Pride that will get the loudest applause globally.
