The Hong Kong Trade Development Council, in conjunction with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, is excited to announce that four of Hong Kong's renowned designers will be amongst the line-up showcasing their Spring Summer 2012/2013 collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia on May 4, 2012 at 4pm.

These exclusively selected Hong Kong designers Chailie Ho, DoDo Leung, Harrison Wong, and Hei Lau, will debut their collections at the Style Hong Kong runway show during MBFWA.

Chailie Ho graduated from the prestigious London Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Her eponymous contemporary womenswear label embraces feminine independence and inner strength, and is designed to accentuate the delicate elegance of modern women. Together with a strong emphasis on fluidity and soft hand-drawn watercolour prints, Ho's refined, sleek and unconventional collection glows with a gentle timeless elegance.

DoDo Leung was born and raised in Hong Kong, and started her career as a high fashion and evening wear designer specialising in unique cutting and embroidery. Continuously studying and training to enrich her industry knowledge, Leung's high-end lingerie couture designer label 'Mondovi®' is for today's modern woman.

Harrison Wong first burst into the public eye by winning the Hong Kong Young Designer's Contest during Hong Kong Fashion Week in 1996. Wong then studied in London where he obtained his Masters degree with distinction from the London College of Fashion. Upon graduating, he launched his first label, a high-end boutique line dubbed The Final Collection.

Hei Lau was raised in Hong Kong and obtained her degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2004. She started designing her own womenswear collection under the label Trèshei, owned and run by the prestigious Hong Kong retail group 'Twist'. Hei Lau has gone on to showcase her own Spring Summer and Fall Winter collections in Paris.

Jarrad Clark, Director of Global Production, IMG Worldwide comments:

“We are very pleased to welcome an exciting contingent of fresh and innovative Hong Kong designers to our schedule this season.

“We look forward to continuing the MBFWA tradition by providing a platform for designers and brands from the Australasian region to present their collections to an international audience whereby they are able to meet their own business growth endeavours.”

Bringing luxury, style and international appeal to MBFWA, the Style Hong Kong pre event will take place at The Box, at Sydney's Passenger Terminal. Allowing guests to mingle ahead of the coveted show and enjoy a selection of cocktails and Asian infused canapés, The Box is a space which will allow these elite Hong Kong designers to provoke interest in their collections.

The runway show will take place at The Theatre, also at Sydney's Passenger Terminal. The space will allow the designers from Hong Kong to redefine how they showcase their collections, therefore creating a luxurious setting.

The strong link between Hong Kong, which is internationally recognised as Asia's fashion capital and the premier destination for shopping, and Australia means the industry is able to continue forging global partnerships and the Style Hong Kong show will be an essential part of every VIP's fashion week experience.
