Johanna Johnson Summons presents her collection at Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Australia. With individual pieces taking over 100 hours of work to complete, the romance and craftsmanship of yesteryear are at the heart of Johanna Johnson's 'Luxor' collection. Art deco inspired design lines and silhouettes, transcend modern day glamour to the elegance of past imperial dynasties.
Stones, colour ways and designs in this collection are all custom designed by Johanna and crafted with exclusive Parisian lace, creating a collection of truly unique gowns. To maintain bygone glamour, hand selected 'vintage finished' sequins have been delicately sewn individually onto silk georgette, overlaid with additional hand beaded Swarovski embellishments.
Each gown has been customized with Egyptian inspired panelling throughout the collection. Heavy 'hand dyed' silks and flowing georgettes encase the hand beaded finishes and art deco accents.
The collection is styled with a selection of accessories and embellishments inspired by the elegance and drama of the Luxor temple; making it possible for clients to style their own individual look.
Geometric lines are complimented by delicate jewelled detailing and the softness of the fabrics. Plunging back lines are softened and made more demure with higher necklines; lace capped sleeves and jewelled veiling.
The more detailed gowns are entirely hand beaded, clean, elegant silhouettes further embellished with three-dimensional Swarovski hand beading, and overlaid with Johanna's line of exclusive French hand beaded laces. Sweeping trains, flowing ties, knotted silks and silk ostrich feather capes complete the decadent styling.
Johanna Johnson says:
“'Luxor' is a decadent level of dressing. I created this range to celebrate the luxurious fabrics, jewels, beads, laces and hand finishes of old. Heavily encrusted, detailed, timeless glamour for any signature occasion”
The inspiration for the 'Luxor' collection celebrates the heady days of the Luxor temple where Egyptian metals, golds, onyx, kohl, precious metals, deep emeralds and rich rubies lay in the heat of the golden sands. 'Luxor' exudes old Hollywood glamour with unsurpassed fit and exquisite embellishment.
