Modacalzado+Iberpiel, the International Footwear and Leather Goods Fair, has initiated its marketing campaign for the next edition of the event, which is due to take place from 22nd to 24th September (from Saturday to Monday) in the DC Area 12.14 at Feria de Madrid.

The thirtieth edition of this fair, which is organised by IFEMA in collaboration with the Spanish Footwear Industries Federation (FICE), will present a number of important new features for both exhibitors and visitors. With these new developments, the fair organisers aim to consolidate the fair's positioning as one of the three leading European fairs for the footwear industry, on the one hand, and boost the fair's national and international standing, on the other.

Among the most important new features aimed at exhibitors, the fair has decided to introduce various improvements of a financial nature relating to the participants' stands at the exhibition. Some of these measures entail a saving of up to 10%, which will help to boost the profitability of exhibitors' attendance at the fair, as well as attracting new participants. "The new package of offers seeks to minimise the cost impact, especially in view of the current economic situation", declares Francesco Malatesta, the Director of Modacalzado+Iberpiel.

Furthermore, the trade exhibition will present a series of improvements that complement those that were introduced two editions ago, when the fair unveiled a new format and concept featuring a more open and more modern image, based on an entirely new decorative approach and a new location. In this respect, the fair will now offer improved lighting and more comprehensive furnishings for its modular stands, thus making this stand option much more attractive to potential exhibitors.

Under the heading of visitors, the fair is currently promoting a series of new measures designed to boost its numbers of Spanish and foreign buyers. As far as foreign visitors are concerned, Modacalzado+Iberpiel will strengthen the attendance of professionals from South America and the countries of the East, especially in view of the favourable performance of their economies and the growing levels of interest in Spanish products that have been witnessed in these countries. The fair will not overlook Spain's natural markets either, such as those of France, Italy and Portugal.

For both foreign and Spanish buyers, the fair has set up a new programme designed to improve and lengthen their stay in Madrid, which will be completed with other measures that are due to be implemented to coincide with the fair. This programme, which enjoys the support of the Madrid Regional Government and Madrid City Council, entails the staging of a series of evening events, circuits around the leading shopping establishments throughout the capital based on extended opening times, and special discounts at hotels and restaurants and for different forms of transport.

All of theseinitiatives will help to position the fair as a key event for the footwear industry and for fashion professionals in general, based on an exhibition that effectively showcases the high levels of quality, design and innovation that exist within the industry.

In order to inform professionals about all of the new features that are due to be introduced at the next edition, the Director of Modacalzado+Iberpiel, Francesco Malatesta, together with the fair's Marketing Director, Félix Pérez-Fajardo, have initiated a series of meetings with members of the industry, starting with a visit to Elche. These meetings will continue up until the month of June, bringing the fair to different footwear-producing areas throughout Spain.
