The Madrid International Fashion Fair, SIMM, will take place at the IFEMA exhibition centre on 1st, 2nd and 3rd September. With still more than three months to go before the staging of the sixty-eighth edition of SIMM, the Madrid International Fashion Fair, the event's organisers have already allocated some 70% of the space available in Halls 12 and 14 in the DC Area at Feria de Madrid, the habitual venue for the fair in recent years.

Among the new features at this edition, which will focus on the latest collections for Spring-Summer 2013, we might mention the fair's new dates (from Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd September) and its strengthening of the MOON&SUN Section.

In this respect, with a view to boosting its international dimension and appeal and consolidating its role as one of the key events within the textile and clothing industry throughout the world, SIMM has implemented a series of trade missions in Portugal and in up-and-coming markets such as Brazil and Mexico, with a view to attracting new clothing and accessory brands to the fair and boosting the event's dynamic appeal. As far as Spanish brands are concerned, SIMM will boost the presence of swimwear companies from the Canary Islands.

The Canaries will also serve as the Guest Region at next September's edition.

Furthermore, in order to enable professionals from the industry to make the very most of their attendance at the fair, an interesting Programme of Coinciding Activities has been organised to take place within the framework of SIMM, thus complementing the trade exhibition. These activities will be staged at their habitual venue, known as Speaker's Corner.

SIMM will also carry out an Activities Programme for foreign buyers and the foreign press at the next edition, this being the best means of promoting the event and the fair's participating brands abroad.

In addition, the IFEMA Fashion Showrooms continue to grow. In this sense, since this area was created at the North Convention Centre, an ever-increasing number of brands have signed up to exhibit their products in this part of the fair.

SIMM has established itself as one of the most important trade fairs for the textile and clothing industry. At its last edition, which took place in February of this year, the number of visitors increased by 56%, whilst the fair also featured a larger exhibition space and a larger number of brands.
