ALS Association of Arkansas Hosts Fashion Show Featuring Former Collegiate, NBA, & NFL Athletes to Benefit Patients with Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Little Rock — The Little Rock chapter of the nonprofit organization ALS Association of Arkansas will host the Inaugural 2012 Models & Jocks Fashion Show uniting fashion and sports as we feature some of Arkansas’ finest talent from both collegiate and professional sports teams.

The mission of the event is to raise funds for the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or, ALS, by supporting research to find a cure and providing much-needed services to patients and their families.

The evening will start off with a red carpet frenzy, followed by passed hors d’oeuvres by Bonefish Grill and champagne flutes. This high energy event combines fashion, philanthropy, sports and beauty and will take place from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 at Chenal Woods Cabana Resort Pool, located in West Little Rock at 4 Chenal Woods Drive.

The show will include fashions from local sponsors including Scarlet, Pinky Punky, Evolve and Baumans Fine Men’s Clothing. Models & Jocks Fashion show featured jocks include Anthony Lucas, Reggie Swinton, Clint Storner, Sunday Adebayo, Garrick Jones, Marlon Louziero, Pat Bradley.

Additional sponsors making the Models and Jocks Fashion Show possible are Junkin Construction Company, Dillards, Chenal Woods, 1037 The Buzz, Royal Amethyst, Arkansas Express and Team Up World.

ALS plagues people from all walks of life including many professional athletes. Former Dallas Cowboys football player Reggie Swinton said “It will be amazing to see how one night can bring together people from all walks of life – athletes, designers, photographers, stylists, models, musicians, community leaders, and philanthropists -- who volunteer their abilities and support for a common cause.”

ALS Association of Arkansas is an innovative resource that gives voice to the people affected with this degenerative disease. Former Razorback basketball player Pat Bradley has always wanted to mix his love of sports with his passion for philanthropy.

“I am really happy to be a part of Models and Jocks and not only represent my former team, but the mission of ALS Association of Arkansas. People need to understand that this disease does not care who you are or what you do, it can happen to anyone. This is an important cause and I am glad I can do my part to help. ”
