UAL to present honorary awards to fashion sector

This July, University of the Arts London (UAL) will confer honorary awards on luminaries from the worlds of art, fashion, design, journalism and performance. Recognised for the exceptional contributions they have made to their chosen field, the awards will be given at the University’s annual Awards Ceremonies at the Royal Festival Hall between 16 and 19 July.

The honourees will address an audience of graduating students, imparting their advice and sharing their experiences with the next generation of world leading creatives.

Honorary awards will be bestowed on:

PM: Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon - Tony Cragg CBE, Honorary Fellowship

Sarah Greenwood, Honorary Fellowship

Tuesday 17 July

London College of Fashion - David Downton, Honorary Doctorate

Lulu Guinness OBE, Honorary Doctorate

Chris Moore, Honorary Doctorate

Dr Philip Sams, Honorary Doctorate

Wednesday 18 July

Central Saint Martins - Paul Williams, Honorary Doctorate

Colin Firth CBE, Honorary Fellowship

Stella McCartney, Honorary Fellowship

Yinka Shonibare MBE, Honorary Fellowship

Thursday 19 July

London College of Communication - Mark Haworth-Booth OBE, Honorary Doctorate

David Sproxton CBE, Honorary Doctorate

Professor Sir Tim Berners-Lee OM, Honorary Doctorate

Alex Crawford OBE, Honorary Doctorate

Colin Firth CBE and Lulu Guinness OBE have recorded exclusive original films for the Ceremonies that will be screened at the event in their absence.
