Joint staging of SIMM & MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL

With regard to the dates, the organisers aim to secure a slot that is close to that of other large Ifema events, whilst also taking the international calendar into account. Thus, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWM), the other grand fashion event in Spain, which is also organised by IFEMA, will coincide with the staging of the new fair project, provided that this is feasible in view of its current position on the current international fashion show calendar. Since February 2012, Madrid's Fashion Week has opened the international programme, taking place before the events staged in New York, London, Milan and Paris.     

These changes regarding the fashion trade fairs organised by IFEMA coincide with the changes undertaken by other European fairs, all of which have been introduced in order to adapt to new market demands.  

At the February 2012 edition, SIMM brought together some 800 brands and welcomed 16,776 trade visitors. Meanwhile, the last edition of MODACALZADO, held in March 2012, featured the participation of more than 600 exhibitors and companies and some 7,500 buyers.
