Nicole Goodwin, 23, created a womenswear black jacket suit with contrast red panels. She said: ‘Classic super-hero costume influenced my garment in contour panelling and bold colours, displaying the heroic confidence found in fashion.’

Michelle Nash, 23, made a red dress with inverted front detail. She said: ‘The concept behind this garment is body protection inspired by protective shells such as amour and beetles, creating dynamic silhouettes for a strong structured look for the modern woman today.’

The 229-year-old specialist Yorkshire mill is a luxury fabric supplier to the world’s royalty including Queen Elizabeth II. It has exclusively supplied ceremonial woollen cloth to the Ministry of Defence which can be seen on the iconic Royal Guards outside Buckingham Palace and was worn by Prince William on his wedding day. It also has its own lifestyle brand called Scarlet & Argent which is stocked in John Lewis and Liberty.
